Pantani-Surace (Lia Pantani 1966 and Giovanni Surace 1964), have been collaborating since 1995; they are interested in the processualism of things and changeability of natural phenomena. In their works there is always a fluctuating rhythm, a mutation of state, a transformation that generates new meaning. Time plays a fundamental role in their productions. The consummation, the exhaustion or the modification into a new form: an aesthetic of the instability capable of grasping the uniqueness of a moment. Their works are almost always intensely interconnected to the physicality and history of the exhibition environment and at times it is the very spectator who sets in motion a process of change. Their poetics, which condenses and summarizes all in the essential, in the transitory, in the moment that constantly renews itself.
Pantani-Surace (Lia Pantani 1966 e Giovanni Surace 1964), collaborano dal 1995 e sono interessati alla processualità delle cose e alla mutevolezza dei fenomeni naturali. Nelle loro opere è sempre presente un ritmo fluttuante, una mutazione di stato, una trasformazione che genera nuovo senso. Il tempo gioca un ruolo fondamentale nella loro produzione. Il consumarsi, l’esaurirsi o il modificarsi in una nuova forma: un’estetica dell’instabilità in grado di far cogliere l’unicità di un attimo. Le loro opere sono quasi sempre intensamente legate alla fisicità e alla storia dell’ambiente espositivo e a volte è lo stesso spettatore che mette in moto un processo di cambiamento. Una poetica, la loro, che condensa e riassume il tutto nell’essenziale, nel transitorio, nell’attimo che di continuo rinnova se stesso.
